At Uncorked, we aim to foster skills in the areas of development, production, design and strategy. Our interns work alongside senior developers, designers, and producers to build skills by contributing to real client projects. Beyond that, during the summer, we encourage interns to follow their own interests and seek out new and useful technologies to integrate into our work at Uncorked. Our program is a two-way street!

So, if you have an interest in solving problems, building things, and creating products that make the world a little more interesting, you’d fit right in.

Please apply below or submit your materials to Liz Rhodes, People Director of Uncorked Studios at liz@uncorkedstudios.com

We’ll accept applications on a rolling basis through 3/15/2017.

For reference, the internship offers a stipend and is typically three months in length, beginning in May. However, this can vary depending on school schedules and/or previous commitments.

If you have any questions about the internship program, please contact Liz Rhodes, People Director of Uncorked Studios at liz@uncorkedstudios.com.

Summer Positions

What is Semiotics?

Semiotics is the study of making meaning. The goal of the semiotics practice is to provide context for the work we do by finding the meaning behind every project.

This entails many different things, but one of our major roles is being the editorial arm of the company—helping to proofread the work coming out of the studio. At large, we are constantly thinking about Uncorked’s voice and how we are representing ourselves to the world, whether that’s in our case studies or social media content.

Beyond editing and voice, we help facilitate exercises with the team to articulate and answer questions that lead us to the purpose behind a product.

What the internship entails

The internship will encompass some elements of public relations, branding and internal communications. Knowing these terms are very broad, here is a more specific snapshot of some of the types of projects:

  • Writing content for the studio blog and helping to coordinate the behind-the-scenes production of the blog—including working with other people in the studio to get their content in
  • Researching speaking opportunities for Uncorked folks in 2018
  • Collecting and helping write content for Uncorked’s social media channels
  • Coming up with ideas for stories we can pitch to the media
  • Helping to monitor media contacts that are covering relevant topics to Uncorked and finding new media contacts that we can reach out to
  • Contributing to internal projects as needed, whether that’s writing a summary for a product or collecting research on a certain topic

What you’ve done

  • Earning a degree or earned a degree in communications, such as public relations, journalism or advertising
  • Has and can demonstrate experience writing for clients/companies, whether at an internship or for school projects (it’s a plus if you’re familiar with AP style)

At Uncorked Studios, we strive to hire a workforce representative of the communities we serve, understanding that a diverse workforce strengthens our organization. We value diversity and support a positive and welcoming environment where all of our employees can thrive.

Uncorked Studios is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
