Developer Intern

Uncorked Studios is seeking Developer Interns to join us for the summer of 2015.

As a member of our dev team, you’ll work alongside senior developers, designers, and producers to build your skills and contribute to real client projects. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including native iOS/Android apps, Internet of Things prototyping and research, API building, full stack web apps, and everything in between. Basically, you’ll help us take crazy ideas and make them real and usable.

If software isn’t your thing and you’re interested in hardware or electrical engineering, we’re interested in hearing from you too. Developers at Uncorked are encouraged to follow their interests to seek out new and useful technologies to integrate into Uncorked and personal projects, and interns are no different.

Internships at Uncorked are paid and typically three months in length, but can vary depending on school schedules and/or previous commitments. Current students, graduating seniors, and junior developers are all encouraged to apply.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Understanding of software design principles (e.g., OOP)
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Highly motivated to experiment with new technologies

Ideal Candidate has experience with any of the following:

  • Objective-C/Swift for iOS and OSX
  • Java for Android
  • JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5 for mobile-friendly websites and apps
  • Python, Node.js, Java, Ruby, etc., for back end setups
  • Hardware – Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.
  • Databases – SQL or NoSQL
  • Version control, application deployment tools, API communication

Tell us why we care about your pet programming language; you might end up building us something in it (we have done it in the past, and we’ll do it again).

Design Intern

Uncorked Studios is seeking a Design Intern who can combine a command of interaction principles with a polished visual aesthetic to help us build amazing products in the summer of 2015.

Uncorked Designers help bring ideas to life. They are master communicators — in conversations, sketches, prototypes and presentations — whose vision helps shape the things we make. They’re tasked with providing our team and clients with everything from conceptual sketches and complex user flows to production ready assets and brand identity materials. They work closely with our dev team to push the edges of what is possible and what creates value for people using our products.

As an Uncorked Design Intern, you’ll play an active role on our Design Team. You’ll gain real client and product experience, collaborate with our talented team of professionals, and routinely find yourself searching for the perfect .GIF.

Additional tasks may include design research, production design, visual QA, photography, motion explorations, proposal and presentation preparation, internal collateral, blog posting, and light front-end coding, if applicable.
